Why NAH Management Joined NARPM

We recently became members of the National Association of Residential Property Managers. Here is why we made the decision and what it signals about how we think about professional standards.

NAH Management is now a proud member of NARPM

When Albert and I started building NAH Management, we made a decision early on that every part of the business would be built to a standard we could defend. Not just to our clients, but to ourselves. That meant being deliberate about the tools we use, the systems we build, the partners we work with, and the professional organizations we align with. This week, we took a step we had been planning for a while: NAH Management officially became a member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers.

What NARPM Is

For those unfamiliar, NARPM is the premier professional association for residential property managers in the United States. Founded in 1988, it now has over 6,000 members nationwide. Its focus is specifically on single-family and small residential property management, which is exactly the space NAH operates in. It is the industry body most directly aligned with what we do every day.

NARPM provides its members with continuing education, professional designations, industry benchmarking data, legislative advocacy, and a peer network of managers operating across the country. It also holds its members to a formal Code of Ethics and Professional Standards, and requires every new member to complete an ethics course within the first 90 days of joining.

Why We Joined

There are a lot of associations in real estate. We did not join NARPM to collect a badge. We joined because it aligns with how we already operate, and because it adds specific value in three areas that matter to us.

Accountability. The ethics requirement is not optional. Every new NARPM member must complete the association's ethics course within 90 days. That is not a formality. It is a condition of membership. For a company like ours, where fiduciary responsibility to our owners is foundational, having an external accountability framework reinforces the standards we set internally.

Professional development. NARPM offers professional designations that are recognized across the industry, including the Residential Management Professional (RMP) and Master Property Manager (MPM) credentials. These are earned through a combination of experience, education, and service. We intend to pursue them. As the platform grows, having team members with nationally recognized credentials raises the bar for the entire operation.

Industry benchmarking. One of the most valuable aspects of NARPM membership is access to data that helps us compare our performance against other residential property management firms nationwide. NARPM is launching a financial KPI benchmarking program that allows member companies to measure key performance indicators against peers. For a company that runs on data, that kind of visibility is directly useful.

"We did not join to collect a badge. We joined because the standards NARPM sets are the standards we already hold ourselves to, and because external accountability makes internal discipline stronger."

What This Means for Our Clients

For the property owners we serve, NARPM membership is a signal. It means NAH Management is held to a published code of ethics by an independent professional body. It means we are investing in continuing education specific to residential property management. And it means we are connected to a national network of professionals who are operating at the same standard we aspire to.

It does not change how we operate day to day. We were already building to this standard. But it adds a layer of external validation and accountability that we think matters, especially for owners who are trusting us with a significant financial asset.

What Comes Next

Joining is the first step. Over the coming months, we will complete the required ethics certification, begin the coursework toward professional designations, and engage with NARPM's Florida chapter to connect with other managers operating in our market. We will also be integrating NARPM's benchmarking data into how we evaluate our own performance.

We are building NAH Management to last. That means surrounding the business with the right systems, the right people, and the right professional infrastructure. NARPM membership is one piece of that foundation.
